Rosie Jones

Rosie Jones received a first-class MEng Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London, with her Master’s year spent at the University of Melbourne in 2002. She became a partner in Max Fordham LLP in 2006. In 2007, she joined a charity in Guatemala, building concrete block and tin houses, before joining Skelly & Couch in December. In 2008, Rosie won the Royal Academy of Engineering George McFarlane Award for demonstrating excellence in the early stages of her career.
Rosie currently leads the pioneering renovation and new build of a higher education site in Sunderland to teach modern methods of construction, the ambitious Candle Flame housing scheme in Newcastle, and a flexible studio theatre extension at The Hexagon in Reading. Notable highlights include the National Trust’s Whitburn Coastal Conservation Centre, achieving an EPC A rating of 12, the extensive renovation of the Grade II* Maften Hall luxury hotel in Northumberland and the complete renovation of the Grade II* Hall for Cornwall Theatre.
As a fellow of the ImechE, Rosie is an active participant in their primary initiatives to engage the next generation of engineers, is a mentor to engineers working towards chartership and tutors in the Newcastle school of architecture.
Rosie loves being outdoors with her family ideally on a bike, on skis or swimming in lakes.
