Fabio Rosso earned an MSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Udine, Italy, in 2000. He started his career as a CAD Manager and DB Administrator in Italy before moving to the UK to join HCS Group as a Design Coordinator. In 2002, Fabio became a Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineer at Robinson Associates. After working as an M&E consultant in Italy, Fabio returned to Robinson Associates from 2013 to 2016, when he joined Skelly & Couch.
At Skelly and Couch, Fabio has led the assessment and development of technical solutions for complex and unique engineering systems, including district heating systems, energy centres, and control systems. His expertise spans all major heat pump technologies, having studied a river-source system for the Anniversary Building at St Hilda’s College and an ambient-loop system for St Paul’s Girls’ School, as well as designing closed-loop and open-loop systems for Gradel Quad at New College and New College Court at Emmanuel College, respectively.
Fabio has also contributed to the design of various mixed-use projects, including student accommodations and residential blocks featuring commercial kitchens, restaurants, gyms, offices, theatres, and car parks. Currently, he contributes to the construction and handover stages of the National Theatre refurbishment.
Fabio is active in the practice’s knowledge management group, supporting engineer development. He is an advisor for the London Museum of Water and Steam, contributing to their long-term Steaming Into Sustainability project. Since 2004, he has been a member of the National Council of Italian Engineers.
Fabio enjoys quality family time and outdoor activities like hiking, running, swimming and cycling. He also enjoys singing and appreciates good food.
