Principal Building Physics Engineer
Katharine earned her MEng in Civil Engineering from the University of Bristol in 2004, including an Erasmus year at the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées in Lyon, France. She completed an MSc in Environmental Design & Engineering at University College London in 2005 and started working as a Structural Engineer at Ramboll in 2006. In 2012, she joined Skelly & Couch to further her expertise in Environmental & Building Services Engineering, ultimately specialising in Building Physics.
At Skelly & Couch, Katharine contributed to the Grade II listed Farmiloe Building by developing an integrated strategy to optimise the combined performance of the historic building and its new extension. She also delivered the energy modelling and services strategy for the new headquarters of the iconic British manufacturer, Vitsœ, a project distinguished by its unwavering commitment to responsible design. More recently, Katharine has focused on developing thermal modelling for residential schemes and other technically complex schemes, including the Hexagon Theatre.
Katharine is a member of CIBSE and a qualified Low Carbon Energy Assessor.
Katharine loves a long ride as well as local cycling adventures with her kids. She’s also into open water swimming at the Hampstead Heath ponds and discovering new places with her family.
