Neil earned an MEng in Mechanical Engineering with Sustainable Development from the University of Birmingham in 2009. After two years in postgraduate research, he became a design engineer at a mechanical services contractor before joining engineering partnership Troup Bywaters + Anders in 2013. Over five years there, he led the mechanical and electrical design for several projects, including the £18m Royal College of Pathologists headquarters in Aldgate, London.

Neil joined Skelly & Couch in 2019, working across various sectors, including heritage and listed buildings. Notable projects include an energy masterplan for New College, Oxford, where he’s also helped deliver its most significant transformation in over a century. He contributed to the City of London Freemen’s School energy masterplan and led the £20m refurbishment of its Grade II-listed Main House. Currently, he is working on the refurbishment of Theatr Clwyd in North Wales, winner of the Regional Theatre of the Year at The Stage 2021 Awards.

Neil is a chartered engineer and CIBSE member. He leads practice development in heating, cooling, and fire engineering systems while also driving practice-wide knowledge development.

Neil is a keen cyclist and enjoys climbing and long mountain walks.
